Donations

Mission Statement:
To celebrate and honor, through high quality interpretation and displays, the heritage of Phillips Petroleum Company and the people who contributed to its success, long-term survival, enduring qualitites and pioneering spirit. 

Collections Policy:
The Phillips Petroleum Company Museum is dedicated to the acquisition, preservation, and exhibition of materials relevant to the company’s origin, development, people and products. The museum accepts only those materials that it intends to retain for its collections. Donated items may be used for the purposes of exhibit displays, research, and educational programs. Due to the high cost of processing and storage, the museum reserves the right to deaccession items that appear deteriorated, duplicated, or fall outside of the museum’s mission statement.

Specific Areas of Collection:
Materials are acceptable to the extent that they are the best quality and condition available and are relevant to one or more of the following areas:
• Corporate History
• A Family Institution
• Research and Development
• Refining and Transportation
• Exploration and Production
• Sales and Promotions
• Phillips Aviation

Items to Offer:
As part of the ongoing collection policy and to guard against possible damage to donated items, the ConocoPhillips Heritage Museums, Inc., has established the following procedure for handling potential donations and/or purchases for the Phillips Petroleum Company Museum and the Conoco Museum.

Potential donations or purchases must be submitted in writing, addressed to the ConocoPhillips Heritage Museums, Inc. by using our Certificate of Gift form (pdf). All requests should include detailed description, approximate measurements, information regarding its place in company history, and a statement about your desire to donate or sell the item.  Photographs are encouraged.

The curator will evaluate the item(s) in relation to the overall museum mission and its relevance to the collections policy. You will then be contacted by ConocoPhillips Archives personnel or the museum staff.

PLEASE DO NOT BRING ANY ITEMS TO THE MUSEUM WITHOUT CONTACTING US IN WRITING.
